This Facial Moisturizing Oil is a Whole Botanical/PUFA-Free product. That is to say it is a gentle, well-integrated, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, very moisturizing oil for our sensitive facial skin. It is also to say it is free of PUFA's, or polyunsaturated fatty acids-oils that are from seeds and nuts, and very unstable and easily oxidized in or on the body. Oxidation causes stress (early maturation), sun intolerance, and unevenness (spots) among other things for our skin. Whole Botanical is another way of saying it is free of essential oils. The extracts are done using the fresh or dried plant material at peak vitality and are gentle and potent for daily use. The use of essential oils daily on our bodies, from shampoo, to moisturizers, to cleansers, toners, masks, peels, body scents, and on and on is toxifying, too much. This product is my baby, with garden-grown organic calendula blossoms, marshmallow leaf, and violet leaf in jojoba oil, and a little olive oil. Every bit of it local.
